Pigeon Forge Movie Theater Coming Very Soon

Pigeon Forge will have its New Movie Theater by the end of August!

In the heart of Pigeon Forge is a very unique shopping center, Walden’s Landing,  with storefronts that resemble the 50’s downtown.  However high lease rates and low traffic numbers have plagued shop owners and resulted in stores going out of business as fast as they came in.  The movie theater is an attempt to bring foot traffic to the Waldens Landing stores and fulfill a need long awaited for.

Several builders over the years have talked about bringing movie theaters to Sevier County, Reel Theaters, Highway 66, has gone unchallenged for over a decade.  The new movie theater will have a 50’s style marquee gracing its front, stadium seating, digital projection, and the ability to show trendy 3D movies.  If they keep their prices in check with reality, they are sure to succeed.

Reel Theaters, having been the only movie theater in Sevier County, refused to give discounts of any depth until their 12am shows, much to late for small children and seniors.  Locals hope the new theater will spark competition in the form of ticket pricing.  Most Sevier County locals make close to minimum wage and are unable to afford lavish ticket and snack food pricing.
