Tennessee Douglas Lake Doing Great

East Tennessee’s Douglas Lake doing great so far!

The previous 2 years Douglas Lake has struggled to maintain water levels satisfactory for boating, fishing and other water activities.  So far this year the levels are excellent and many of the lake areas are now open for the first time in 2 years.

Last week we had the pleasure of fishing Douglas Lake with Captain Dave Berry, Smokies Angling Adventures.  Despite our lacking bass fishing skills, we faired really well with Captain David’s friendly guidence and all had a teriffic time.  My wife was more than happy to share with everyone she had caught the largest bass all by herself.

Several families seemed to be enjoying the various activities surrounding Douglas Lake and we noticed that campsites are filling fast with locals and guest from other states.  Water temp seemed to hover around 72 degrees and was very smooth.  This year is sure to be great on Douglas Lake!

• Hillbilly Jokes & Others

  Hillbilly Awareness 1. Don't be surprised to find movie rentals and bait in the same store. 2. "Mom'n'em" is not one person. When someone asks, "How's your Mom'n'em?" They are referring to the whole family. 3. Remember, "You all" is singular, "All ya'll" is plural, and "All y'alls" is plural possessive. 4. Get used to hearing, "You ain't from arouncheer, are ya?" 5. If you hear "Hey, y'all, watch this," move out of the way there's something stupid about to happen. 6. Hillbilly's aint quite figured out turn signals so they are a novelty. 7. When you see a hillbilly driving 15 mph down the middle of the road, remember that most folks learn to drive on a tractor and the rest learned to drive while hunting from the road. 8. Do not be surprised to find that 10 year olds own their own shotguns and are proficient marksmen. Or that their Mammas taught them how to aim. 9. Duct tape is not only part of every survival kit; it is the WHOLE kit. 10. If you hear a turkey gobble, get out of the way. "Hillbillies" view a turkey gobble like city folk to payoff bells at a slot machines only da hillbilly has a gun.
